Below are some of the basic trucking insurance coverages we can provide through all of our insurance companies that provide trucking insurance in Lousiana, Texas, and Mississippi.
Primary Trucking Liability
This coverage option protects you from the bodily injury and property damage of another party as a result of a truck accident. This coverage is mandated by state and federal agencies such as the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration.
Comprehensive Physical Damage and Collision Coverage
This insurance is coverage for your truck and trailer. This coverage is for repair or replacement for damage resulting from things such as a vehicle collision, fire, theft, hail, windstorm, earthquake, flood, mischief, or vandalism to your owned vehicles.
Motor Truck Cargo Coverage
Motor Truck Cargo Insurance protects the transporter for his or her responsibility in the event of damaged or lost freight. This insurance coverage is required by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration when your business hauls personal items such has a residential furniture moving company. The policy is purchased with a maximum load limit per vehicle.
Trucking General Liability
This coverage provides protection for bodily injuries or property damage of other parties sustained while not using and operating a truck or vehicle. General Liability is for negligent acts on your business premises, using your products or services, on another party's premises during the loading and unloading of truck trailer, or because of a breach of contract.
Non-Trucking Liability & Bobtail Coverage
Non-Trucking Liability & Bobtail Coverage provides limited liability insurance for owner-operators who are permanently leased to an ICC regulated carrier. It provides limited liability protection when the owner-operator is not on dispatch, nor pulling a loaded trailer.
Trailer Interchange Coverage
A type of coverage available under either the truckers or the motor carrier policy form that covers the insured's legal liability for damage to the trailers of others. Coverage is also available, by endorsement, under the business auto policy (BAP). Motor carriers frequently haul trailers that are owned by other motor carriers. This is often done through a "trade" of trailers that are in different locations to facilitate scheduling. A trailer interchange agreement makes the motor carrier that has possession of the trailer responsible for any damage to the trailer, whether or not the trailer is attached to the tractor.
